We Lift Hope was founded by Anicet Nima, who was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Watford, UK. When he arrived in the UK, he didn’t speak English and often struggled in school. He never saw himself as the smartest student , until one moment changed his direction.
A maths teacher once told him: “Whatever you do, make sure you work harder than everyone else.”
That message became the foundation of his life.
Anicet wasn’t born into a wealthy family. Everything his family achieved came from hard work, discipline, and determination. Inspired by those values, he started his first business at 15 years old and went on to build multiple businesses over the years , always with the intention of creating a life where he could give back and help others.
With over 12 nieces and nephews, Anicet spends a lot of time guiding, supporting, and inspiring them. Seeing how much young people need encouragement and direction sparked a deeper purpose: to uplift other children the same way , to give them hope, confidence, and a vision for their future.
This is how We Lift Hope was born.
Today, Anicet leads the organisation with humility and purpose, driven by the belief that where you start does not define where you can go. His journey is a reminder that with support, belief, and opportunity, every child can rise.
We Lift Hope exists to empower children and communities who deserve support, opportunity, and a chance to rise. Our mission is built on a simple belief: every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving their dreams. We focus on creating safe spaces, providing essential support, and inspiring young people to build confidence, resilience, and hope for their future.
We work closely with families, schools, and community leaders to deliver programs that uplift children emotionally, socially, and mentally. Our goal is to help young people discover their potential, strengthen their character, and believe in what is possible , no matter their background or circumstances.
Everything we do is guided by compassion, dignity, and the belief that hope can transform lives.
